About me.

I'm an engineer, researcher, and data scientist based in Florianópolis, Brazil. My work has moved through instrumentation, measurement, experimental research, software, signal processing, and machine learning — usually wherever the problem happened to take me.

I studied Control and Automation Engineering partly because I wanted to keep my options open. That turned out to fit me surprisingly well. Over the years I've worked with physical test systems, electric motors and compressors, built instrumentation and software, managed an R&D laboratory, published research, and now develop data-driven solutions for industrial machinery.

I like the space between research and engineering. Research taught me to care about measurement, evidence, uncertainty, and whether a result actually means what I think it means. Engineering taught me that eventually something has to work outside the experiment. More recently, industry has taught me to balance that rigor with the need to make something useful now.

Outside formal research and work, I tend to keep building things. Small web applications, self-hosted services, automation, a home server — sometimes because they're useful, sometimes because I want to understand how something works.

Most of what I know came from needing it for some problem I had already decided to solve.
